Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) in implant placement in the aesthetic zone and its effect on alveolar bone resorption and soft tissue aesthetics. Methods A total of 86 patients receiving implant restoration in the aesthetic zone treated in our hospital from January 2023 to June 2024 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into the control group and the observation group by the random number table method, with 43 patients in each group. The control group received conventional implant surgery in the aesthetic zone, and the observation group received PRF-assisted implant surgery in the aesthetic zone. The alveolar bone resorption, soft tissue aesthetics and implant stability quotient were compared between the two groups. Results The amounts of mesial, distal, and labial alveolar bone resorption in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). The scores of mesial papilla, distal papilla, soft tissue marginal level, soft tissue contour, alveolar ridge defect, soft tissue color and soft tissue texture in the observation group were better than those in the control group (P <0.05). The ISQ values at 1, 2 and 3 months after operation in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion The application of PRF in implant placement in the aesthetic zone can reduce postoperative alveolar bone resorption, improve the aesthetic morphology of gingival soft tissue, and enhance the early stability of implants.
