Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of porcelain-fused-to-metal crown and bridge restoration on periodontal health indicators in patients with periodontal disease. Methods A total of 100 patients with periodontal disease admitted to Yinchuan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2023 to July 2025 were selected as the research subjects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group and the observation group, with 50 patients in each group. The control group received conventional initial periodontal therapy, and the observation group additionally received porcelain-fused-to-metal crown and bridge restoration on the basis of periodontal therapy. The periodontal health indicators, dental aesthetic effect and satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results At 6 months after treatment, the probing pocket depth, gingival index and attachment loss in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). The excellent and good rate of dental aesthetics in the observation group (96.00%) was higher than that in the control group (82.00%) (P <0.05). The satisfaction rate of the observation group (98.00%) was better than that of the control group (82.00%) (P <0.05). Conclusion Combined application of porcelain-fused-to-metal crown and bridge restoration and conventional initial periodontal therapy can effectively improve periodontal status of patients with periodontal disease, enhance dental aesthetic effect, and increase patient satisfaction.
