Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of orthodontics combined with implant restoration on oral function and aesthetics in patients with dentition defect complicated by malocclusion. Methods A total of 60 patients with dentition defect complicated by malocclusion treated at Taicang Shimaile Dental Clinic from June 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the research subjects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group and the observation group, with 30 patients in each group. The control group received implant restoration, and the observation group received orthodontics combined with implant restoration. The clinical efficacy, oral function and aesthetics were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group (96.67%) was higher than that of the control group (73.33%) (P <0.05). After treatment, the scores of fixation function, masticatory function, pronunciation function and comfort in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, the scores of PES and WES in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion For patients with dentition defect complicated by malocclusion, combined orthodontics and implant restoration can effectively reconstruct occlusal function, improve facial aesthetics, and elevate the overall clinical treatment effect.
