Abstract:Inflammation directly affects the healing quality and aesthetic effect of oral postoperative wounds. Poorly controlled inflammation tends to cause aesthetic impairments including scar formation, mucosal pigmentation, soft tissue collapse and bone defects. Precise anti-inflammatory regulation serves as the key to aesthetic reconstruction. Gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) hydrogel features favorable biocompatibility, tunable physicochemical properties and photocrosslinking capacity, making it an ideal carrier for oral local anti-inflammatory drug delivery. Bioactive components from natural drugs (such as flavonoids) exhibit unique therapeutic advantages in anti-inflammation, anti-tumor, antibacterial and other fields. This paper systematically summarizes the anti-inflammatory strategies of GelMA hydrogel loaded with flavonoids, explains its mechanisms for achieving aesthetic reconstruction through scar inhibition, soft tissue contour maintenance and bone regeneration, and prospects the development of smart responsive hydrogels, so as to provide new insights for the field of oral aesthetic medicine and theoretical evidence for clinical translation of GelMA-loaded natural drug delivery system.
