Abstract:Objective To explore the correlation among soft tissue health status, pink esthetic effect and patient satisfaction after implant-supported denture restoration in the maxillary anterior region. Methods A cross-sectional correlation study design was adopted. A total of 80 patients with single implant-supported denture restoration in the maxillary anterior region (one implant per patient, 80 implants in total) who returned for follow-up at the Implant Room of Kailu Yuchi Dental Clinic Co., Ltd. from January to December 2024 were enrolled. Evaluations were performed between 6 to 12 months after the completion of permanent restoration. The peri-implant soft tissue health indicators [modified plaque index (mPI), modified sulcus bleeding index (mSBI), bleeding on probing (BOP) and probing depth (PD)] were detected. The pink esthetic score (PES) was used to assess soft tissue esthetic effect, and patient satisfaction was investigated. Spearman correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used to analyze the relationships among the different indicators. Results mPI, mSBI and BOP were negatively correlated with PES and patient satisfaction (P <0.05). PES was positively correlated with patient satisfaction (r s=0.616, P <0.05). Multiple regression analysis showed that PES was an independent positive influencing factor for patient satisfaction (β =0.490, P <0.05), and mSBI was an independent negative influencing factor for patient satisfaction (β =-0.324, P <0.05). Conclusion After implant-supported denture restoration in the maxillary anterior region, favorable soft tissue health is correlated with better pink esthetic effect and higher patient satisfaction. Clinically, attention should be paid to the control of peri-implant inflammation and the maintenance of soft tissue esthetics to improve patient satisfaction.
