Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of auricular point therapy combined with modified Jingfang Baidu powder on epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI)-related rash rate and quality of life in patients with locally advanced or metastatic non?small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods A total of 60 patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC receiving EGFR?TKI treatment admitted to Weihai Municipal Hospital from January 2018 to December 2025 were selected, and they were divided into group A (n =15), group B (n =24) and group C (n =21) by the random number table method. Group A received conventional care, group B received additional auricular point therapy, and group C received auricular point therapy combined with modified Jingfang Baidu powder. The rash rate and severity, quality of life and anti-tumor efficacy were compared among the three groups. Results The incidence of rash in group B and group C was lower than that in group A (P <0.05). The severity of rash in group B and group C was lower than that in group A (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of rash and the severity of rash between group B and group C (P >0.05). After 2 weeks of treatment, the scores of dermatology life quality index ( DLQI ) in the three groups were lower than those at the time of rash onset, and the DLQI scores of group B and group C were lower than those of group A at the time of rash onset and after 2 weeks of treatment (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in antitumor efficacy among the three groups (P >0.05). Conclusion Auricular point therapy combined with modified Jingfang Baidu powder can effectively prevent EGFR-TKI-related rash, reduce rash severity, and improve quality of life in patients with locallyadvanced or metastatic NSCLC, which is worthy of clinical application.
