Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of bracketless invisible orthodontic treatment on craniofacial skeletal aesthetic development and oral function in children with malocclusion. Methods A total of 84 children with malocclusion admitted to Qiaoxi District Stomatological Hospital from January 2020 to July 2021 were selected as the research subjects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group and the observation group, with 42 children in each group. The control group received conventional fixed orthodontic treatment with metal brackets, and the observation group received bracketless invisible orthodontic treatment. The craniofacial skeletal aesthetic development, oral function and satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results After 24 months of treatment, the SNA angle and UL-Eline distance in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the SNB angle was higher than that in the control group (P <0.05). After 24 months of treatment, all dimension scores of oral function in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). The satisfaction rate of the observation group (95.24%) was higher than that of the control group (76.19%) (P <0.05). Conclusion Bracketless invisible orthodontic treatment can effectively coordinate maxillofacial skeletal development and reconstruct oral function for children with malocclusion, improve facial aesthetics, and further improve treatment satisfaction.
