Objective To analyze the effect of orthodontics combined with implant restoration on aesthetic effect in patients with dentition defect combined with malocclusion. Methods A total of 100 patients with dentition defect combined with malocclusion admitted to the Stomatology Center of Huiji Hospital Affiliated to Hubei Polytechnic Institute from January 2024 to March 2025 were selected, and they were divided into the control group and the study group according to different treatment regimens, with 50 patients in each group. The control group received implant restoration, and the study group received orthodontics combined with implant restoration. The aesthetic effect, treatment efficacy, dental function and periodontal health indicators were compared between the two groups. Results The scores of PES and WES in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). The total effective rate of treatment in the study group (96.00%) was higher than that in the control group (78.00%) (P <0.05). The masticatory efficiency, maximum occlusal force and occlusal contact area in the study group after treatment were better than those in the control group (P <0.05). The PLI, GI and PD of the study group after treatment were lower than those of the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion For patients with dentition defect combined with malocclusion, the application of orthodontics combined with implant restoration can further optimize aesthetic effect and overall treatment effect, and improve dental function and periodontal health indicators, which is worthy of clinical application.
