With the wide application of medical aesthetic technologies, complications and related sequelae have attracted extensive clinical attention, and safe and effective diversiffed therapeutic regimens are urgently needed. As a modern innovation of traditional acupuncture, gold-needle therapy exhibits remarkable potential in the management of medical aesthetic sequelae owing to its unique physical and biological stimulation characteristics. This paper aims to review the clinical application status and research progress of gold-needle therapy in treating medical aesthetic sequelae including ffller-related vascular embolism, proliferative skin lesions, inffammatory reactions and nerve injury. By systematically sorting out available case reports and preliminary clinical studies, the mechanism of action, key operational techniques, clinical efffcacy and safety of gold-needle therapy are further discussed, so as to provide novel therapeutic ideas and solid theoretical evidence for the prevention and treatment of medical aesthetic complications.
