Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of video-based health education on awareness rate of health knowledge in patients undergoing secondary cleft lip deformity repair with Abbe ffap. Methods A total of 50 patients who underwent secondary cleft lip deformity repair with Abbe ffap in our department from January 2020 to December 2024 were selected, and they were divided into the conventional group and the intervention group by the random number table method, with 25 patients in each group. The conventional group received traditional verbal health education, and the intervention group received video-based health education. The awareness rate of health knowledge, incision healing time, hospitalization time and pain intensity were compared between the two groups. Results The awareness rate of health knowledge in the intervention group was higher than that in the conventional group (P<0.05). The incision healing time and hospitalization time in the intervention group were shorter than those in the conventional group (P<0.05). The VAS scores of the intervention group at 6 h, 24 h and 48 h after operation were lower than those of the conventional group (P<0.05). Conclusion Video-based health education can effectively build conffdence of patients undergoing secondary cleft lip deformity repair with Abbe ffap, deliver standardized health education, improve the quality of clinical health education, shorten hospitalization time, help to promote incision recovery, and reduce postoperative pain.
