Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) zirconia all-ceramic crown restoration on masticatory function in patients with pulpitis in cracked teeth. Methods A total of 108 patients with pulpitis in cracked teeth admitted to the Department of Endodontics, Yangzhou Stomatological Hospital from January 2023 to December 2025 were selected as the research subjects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into group A and group B , with 54 patients in each group. Group A received CAD/CAM lithium disilicate glass-ceramic onlay restoration, and group B received CAD/CAM zirconia all-ceramic crown restoration. The masticatory function, periodontal indicators, treatment satisfaction and complication rate were compared between the two groups. Results The masticatory efffciency and occlusal force of group B at 1 month after treatment were higher than those of group A (P<0.05). There was no statistically signiffcant difference in periodontal-related indicators between the two groups (P>0.05). The satisfaction scores of tooth shape, tooth function and comfort in group B at 1 month after treatment were higher than those in group A (P<0.05).The incidence of complications in group B (3.70%) was lower than that in group A (14.81%) (P<0.05). Conclusion CAD/CAM zirconia all-ceramic crown restoration achieves satisfactory effects for pulpitis in cracked teeth. It can effectively improve masticatory function, have little inffuence on periodontal tissues, reduce the incidence of postoperative complications, and enhance patients’ treatment satisfaction.
