Objective To explore the effect of different surgical incision methods on postoperative aesthetics in patients with benign parotid gland tumors. Methods A total of 40 patients with benign parotid gland tumors admitted to the Department of Stomatology, Baoying County People’s Hospital from January 2021 to December 2025 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into group A and group B by the random number table method, with 20 patients in each group. Group A adopted the traditional S-shaped incision, and group B adopted the V-shaped aesthetic incision. The incision healing status, facial function recovery, quality of life, subjective patient satisfaction and postoperative aesthetics were compared between the two groups. Results The grade A healing rate of group B was higher than that of group A, and the grade B healing rate was lower than that of group A (P<0.05). The average incision healing time of group B was shorter than that of group A (P<0.05). There was no signiffcant difference in grade C healing rate between the two groups (P>0.05). The excellent and good rate of facial function recovery in group B (90.00%) was higher than that in group A (60.00%) (P<0.05). The scores of each dimension and total score of FACT-HN scale in group B were higher than those in group A (P<0.05). The subjective satisfaction score of group B was higher than that of group A (P<0.05). The postoperative VSS score of group B was lower than that of group A, and the aesthetic satisfaction score of patients was higher than that of group A (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of V-shaped aesthetic incision in the surgery of benign parotid gland tumors can improve postoperative aesthetics, accelerate incision healing, promote facial function recovery, and enhance patients’ subjective satisfaction and quality of life.
