Objective To analyze the clinical effect of full crown restoration combined with root canal therapy in the treatment of cracked teeth with chronic pulpitis. Methods A total of 80 patients with cracked teeth and chronic pulpitis admitted to the Department of Stomatology, Lintong District People’s Hospital from January 2022 to December 2024 were selected, and they were divided into the control group and the observation group according to different treatment methods, with 40 patients in each group. The control group was treated with root canal therapy alone, and the observation group was treated with full crown restoration on the basis of the control group. The treatment effect, pain intensity, gingival health status and complication rate were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group (95.00%) was higher than that in the control group (77.50%) (P<0.05). The VAS scores of the observation group at 1 and 3 months after treatment were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). The gingival health score of the observation group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of complications in the observation group (5.00%) was lower than that in the control group (22.50%) (P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of full crown restoration and root canal therapy has a favorable treatment effect on patients with cracked teeth and chronic pulpitis. It can reduce tooth pain, improve gingival health, and effectively prevent the incidence of postoperative complications, which is worthy of clinical application.
