Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of super-tension-reducing suture combined with tension-reducing tape external fixation in hypertrophic scars of the chest and abdomen. Methods A total of 60 patients with hypertrophic scars of the chest and abdomen admitted from 2023.10 to 2025.10 were selected and divided into a control group(30 cases, traditional tension-reducing suture)and an observation group(30 cases,super-tension-reducing suture combined with tension-reducing tape external fixation)by the random number table method. The total effective rate, pruritus and pain scores, scar severity scores, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared. Results The total clinical effective rate in the observation group(96.67%)was higher than that in the control group(80.00%)(P<0.05).After treatment, the VAS and NRS scores and the scores of all dimensions of the VSS scale were significantly reduced in both groups, and were lower in the observation group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Super-tension-reducing suture combined with tension-reducing tape external fixation has better clinical efficacy than traditional tension-reducing suture in hypertrophic scars of the chest and abdomen, with significant advantages in alleviating symptoms and repairing scars, and with few adverse reactions.
