Abstract:Objective: To investigate the effects of immediate implant placement combined with provisional restoration on pink and white esthetics and gingival morphology in patients with anterior tooth loss. Methods: A total of 80 patients with anterior tooth loss admitted between April 2023 and July 2026 were selected and assigned to groups using a random number table. The control group underwent immediate implant placement followed by conventional healing and restoration, while the observation group received provisional restoration simultaneously with immediate implant placement. The pink esthetic score (PES), white esthetic score (WES), gingival papilla index, gingival margin level, labial soft-tissue thickness, implant survival, and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups before restoration and 6 months after definitive restoration. Results: At 6 months after definitive restoration, the PES, WES, and combined PES/WES scores increased in both groups compared with those before restoration and were higher in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). The gingival papilla index, gingival margin level, and labial soft-tissue thickness were more favorable in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). No statistically significant difference was found in implant survival between the two groups (P>0.05). Patient satisfaction with crown morphology, gingival appearance, and overall esthetic outcome was higher in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Immediate implant placement combined with provisional restoration can improve pink and white esthetic outcomes, preserve gingival papilla and gingival margin morphology, and enhance patient satisfaction with restorative esthetics without compromising short-term implant survival in patients with anterior tooth loss, demonstrating favorable clinical applicability.
