Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of Compound Muniziqi granules on hair parameters and sex hormone levels in male patients with seborrheic alopecia. Methods A total of 76 male patients with seborrheic alopecia admitted to Taixing People’s Hospital from January 2020 to June 2025 were selected as the research subjects. According to different treatment methods, they were divided into group A and group B, with 38 patients in each group. Group A was treated with topical minoxidil liniment, and group B was treated with Compound Muniziqi granules on the basis of group A. The clinical efffcacy, symptom scores, hair parameters, sex hormone levels and adverse reaction rate were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of group B (94.74%) was higher than that of group A (76.32%) (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of scalp greasiness, pruritus, desquamation and erythema in group B were lower than those in group A (P<0.05). After treatment, the hair diameter and hair density in group B were better than those in group A (P<0.05). After treatment, the testosterone level in group B was lower than that in group A, and the estradiol level was higher than that in group A (P<0.05). There was no signiffcant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Compound Muniziqi granules demonstrates good efffcacy in the treatment of male seborrheic alopecia. It can not only effectively improve accompanying symptoms such as scalp greasiness and pruritus, but also regulate the body’s sex hormone levels, thereby promoting hair regrowth, with high overall treatment safety.
