Abstract:Objective To discuss the application value of autologous costal cartilage combined with expanded polytetraffuoroethylene in the correction of deviated nose deformity after rhinoplasty. Methods A total of 80 patients with deviated nose deformity after rhinoplasty admitted to the Department of Cosmetic Surgery, Nanjing Xinghaihui Cosmetic Hospital from January 2023 to November 2025 were selected. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group (n=40) and the experimental group (n=40). The control group was treated with expanded polytetraffuoroethylene prosthesis, and the experimental group was treated with autologous costal cartilage combined with expanded polytetraffuoroethylene prosthesis. The surgical efffcacy, nasal morphology and complication rate were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the experimental group (97.50%) was higher than that of the control group (80.00%) (P<0.05). After treatment, the nasal dorsum length and columella-lobular ratio in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, and the nasofrontal angle was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of complications in the experimental group (2.50%) was lower than that in the control group (17.50%) (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of autologous costal cartilage combined with expanded polytetraffuoroethylene in the correction of deviated nose deformity after rhinoplasty achieves good effect. It can effectively improve the overall surgical effect and nasal appearance, with low incidence of postoperative complications, showing deffnite clinical application value.
