Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the impact of immediate implant placement following minimally invasive tooth extraction combined with minimally invasive periodontal surgery on the success rate of dental implants and radiographic bone regeneration indicators in patients with vertical bone defects due to periodontitis. Methods: A total of 80 patients (80 affected teeth) diagnosed with vertical bone defects secondary to periodontitis and requiring implant rehabilitation were enrolled from October 2023 to October 2024 at the Department of Stomatology. The control group received conventional minimally invasive extraction, delayed implant placement, and traditional periodontal surgery, while the observation group underwent minimally invasive extraction followed by immediate implant placement and minimally invasive periodontal surgical techniques. Implant success rates and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) parameters were compared between the two groups. Results: At 12 months postoperatively, the implant success rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group. At both 6 and 12 months after surgery, the observation group showed a lower vertical bone defect height, higher osseointegration rate, and greater peri-implant bone density compared to the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The combination of immediate implant placement following minimally invasive tooth extraction and minimally invasive periodontal surgery significantly improves long-term implant survival rates and enhances peri-implant bone regeneration and osseointegration quality in patients with vertical bone defects due to periodontitis.
