Abstract:【】 Objective: To explore the efficacy and safety of pulsed dye laser (PDL) combined with ultra-pulsed CO2 fractional laser (UFCL) in the treatment of hypertrophic scars. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 60 patients with hypertrophic scars admitted to the Department of Dermatology, Eighth Affiliated Hospital of Southern Medical University from January 2019 to December 2025. The research team designed a fixed treatment cycle of 6 months. All 60 patients received the same sequential treatment regimen: fractional laser treatment once in the 1rst, 3rd, and 5th monthsd,andPDL treatment once in the 2nd 4th, and 6th months. Therefore, within 6 months, patients received a total of 3 PDL treatments and 3 fractional CO2 laser treatments sequentially. Before treatment and 6 months after treatment, the treatment effective rate, scar assessment scale score, patient satisfaction score, and incidence of complications were statistically analyzed. Results: After 6 months of follow-up following the completion of treatment, compared before and after treatment in 60 patients, the total effective rate was 91.7%, and the satisfaction rate was 96.2%. The VSS score before treatment was (9.75±1.62) and (8.83±1.21) after treatment; the VAS score before treatment was (2.56±0.67 points) and (1.54±0.43 points) after treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidence of treatment-related adverse reactions was low and controllable (a total of 10 cases, mainly including blisters, erythema, and hyperpigmentation), accounting for approximately 16.7%. Conclusion: Pulsed dye laser combined with ultra-pulsed CO2 fractional laser exhibits significant synergistic effects in the treatment of hypertrophic scars, effectively improving scar hypertrophy, functional status, and patient appearance, with high safety and patient satisfaction.
