Abstract:Among the numerous traditional Chinese medicine syndromes of simple obesity, the spleen deffciency and dampness obstruction type is one of the most common and highest incidence syndromes in clinical practice. Its clinical symptoms are mostly manifested as obesity and bloating, heavy and lassitude of limbs, mental fatigue and lack of strength, lack of qi and reluctance to speak, epigastric and abdominal distension, poor appetite, and tasteless mouth. Aiming at the core pathogenesis of "dysfunction of spleen transportation, internal retention of water-dampness, and accumulation of fat and grease" in simple obesity of spleen deffciency and dampness obstruction type, traditional Chinese medicine treatment has always adhered to the fundamental principle of "invigorating the spleen for replenishing qi, resolving dampness and transforming turbidity". On this basis, traditional Chinese medicine physicians of past dynasties have created and modified many effective prescriptions, such as modified classic ancient prescriptions like Fangji Huangqi decoction, Linggui Zhugan decoction, Liujunzi decoction, and self-made empirical prescriptions, which have shown deffnite curative effects in the clinical intervention of simple obesity. This review aims to systematically sort out the relevant clinical research progress of applying traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions in the treatment of this syndrome type in recent years and introduce its related comprehensive treatment models, so as to provide rich ideas and methods for clinical treatment.
