Abstract:Objective: To explore the factors influencing orthodontic aesthetic education and propose corresponding teaching intervention strategies. Methods: A total of 286 undergraduate and graduate students from the Department of Stomatology of our Hospital were selected. General information was collected, and aesthetic ability was assessed using the Orthodontic Aesthetic Ability Evaluation Scale. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify influencing factors. Results: Among the 286 students, 89 cases (31.12%) were in the good aesthetic ability group, and 197 cases (68.88%) were in the to-be-improved group. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that educational level, systematic orthodontic course learning, previous art learning experience, weekly aesthetic training time, clinical internship duration, frequency of aesthetic guidance from instructors, participation in aesthetic case discussions, and self-directed learning of aesthetic materials were factors influencing orthodontic aesthetic education. Conclusion: The above eight factors provide a basis for the formulation of teaching intervention strategies.
