Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of orthodontics combined with implant restoration on oral health indicators in patients with dentition defect accompanied by malocclusion. Methods A total of 66 patients with dentition defect accompanied by malocclusion treated in our hospital from January 2022 to December 2024 were selected, and they were divided into the reference group and the observation group by the random number table method, with 33 patients in each group. The reference group received implant restoration, and the observation group received orthodontics combined with implant restoration. The oral health indicators, masticatory efffciency, maximum occlusal force, bone resorption, pronunciation function, aesthetic effect, quality of life and treatment satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The oral health indicators in the observation group at 3 months after treatment were lower than those in the reference group (P<0.05). The masticatory efffciency and maximum occlusal force in the observation group at 3 months after treatment were higher than those in the reference group (P<0.05). The bone resorption in the observation group at 3 months after treatment was lower than that in the reference group, and pronunciation function score was higher than that in the reference group (P<0.05). The aesthetic effect score in the observation group at 3 months after treatment was higher than that in the reference group, and quality of life score was lower than that in the reference group (P<0.05). The treatment satisfaction of the observation group (96.97%) was higher than that of the reference group (78.79%) (P<0.05). Conclusion For patients with dentition defect accompanied by malocclusion, orthodontics combined with implant restoration can improve oral health indicators and pronunciation function, enhance masticatory efffciency, maximum occlusal force, aesthetic effect and treatment satisfaction, which is worthy of clinical application.
