Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of periodontal tissue regeneration surgery combined with straight wire appliance correction treatment on aesthetics and periodontal function in patients with malocclusion complicated with periodontitis. Methods A total of 80 patients with malocclusion complicated with periodontitis admitted to our hospital from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected, and they were divided into the reference group and the study group by the random number table method, with 40 patients in each group. The reference group received straight wire appliance correction treatment, and the study group received periodontal tissue regeneration surgery combined with straight wire appliance correction treatment. The periodontal inffammatory response indicators, aesthetic effect, periodontal health status and gingival crevicular ffuid osteocalcin level were compared between the two groups. Results After 6 months of treatment, the levels of C-reactive protein, interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor-α, gingival index, bleeding index and plaque index in the study group were lower than those in the reference group, and the scores of PES, WES and gingival crevicular ffuid osteocalcin level were higher than those in the reference group (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of periodontal tissue regeneration surgery combined with straight wire appliance correction treatment for malocclusion complicated with periodontitis can effectively improve patients' periodontal health level and gingival crevicular ffuid osteocalcin level, reduce periodontal inffammatory response, and enhance overall aesthetics.
