Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of iRoot BP pulp capping on the quality of life in patients undergoing vital pulpotomy for young permanent tooth. Methods A total of 80 patients who underwent vital pulpotomy for young permanent tooth at Nanjing Lishui District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2022 to June 2025 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into group A and group B by the random number table method, with 40 patients in each group. Group A was treated with calcium hydroxide pulp capping, and group B was treated with iRoot BP pulp capping. The treatment effect, aesthetics, quality of life and inffammatory factor indicators were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of group B (97.50%) was higher than that of group A (80.00%) (P<0.05). The scores of aesthetics in group B after treatment were higher than those in group A (P<0.05). The scores of quality of life in group B after treatment were higher than those in group A (P<0.05). The levels of interleukin-8 and matrix metalloproteinase-3 in group B after treatment were lower than those in group A (P<0.05). Conclusion In the vital pulpotomy for young permanent tooth, iRoot BP pulp capping has a good clinical effect. It can not only effectively promote healing and improve inffammatory indicators, but also has good aesthetics, which helps to improve the patient's quality of life.
