Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of comfortable oral nursing combined with oral health education on enamel demineralization in orthodontics patients. Methods A total of 100 orthodontics patients treated at the Department of Stomatology, Daying County People's Hospital from August 2023 to December 2024 were selected, and they were divided into the control group and the observation group by the ball-touching randomization, with 50 patients in each group. The control group received conventional nursing, and the observation group received comfortable oral nursing combined with oral health education. The oral health self-management ability, enamel demineralization, periodontal health status and comfort level were compared between the two groups. Results After nursing, the oral health self-management ability score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The degree of enamel demineralization in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The plaque index and gingival index in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The subscale scores of comfort level in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of comfortable oral nursing combined with oral health education in orthodontics patients helps to improve their oral health self-management ability, thereby effectively controlling enamel demineralization, regulating plaque index and gingival index, and enhancing patient comfort.
