Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of layered suture technique on scar condition and aesthetic satisfaction in patients with eyelid laceration. Methods A total of 100 patients with eyelid laceration admitted to the Outpatient Department of Ophthalmology, Wuxi No.8 People's Hospital from January 2021 to October 2024 were selected as the research subjects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group and the study group, with 50 patients in each group. The control group was treated with conventional direct apposition suture technique, and the study group was treated with layered suture technique. The pain intensity, scar condition, aesthetic satisfaction and adverse reaction rate were compared between the two groups. Results The scores of pain intensity in the study group at 12 and 24 hours after surgery were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The scores of scar condition in the study group at 1, 3 and 6 months after surgery were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The aesthetic satisfaction rate of the study group (98.00%) was higher than that of the control group (86.00%) (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the study group (2.00%) was lower than that in the control group (14.00%) (P<0.05). Conclusion Layered suture technique can effectively alleviate postoperative pain in eyelid laceration repair, improve scar quality, enhance patients' satisfaction with ocular aesthetic outcomes, and has a low risk of adverse reactions.
