Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect of porcelain veneer (PLV) restoration in treating dental restoration patients in the department of dentistry and its impact on periodontal health. Methods: 80 patients with tooth loss admitted to the department of dentistry in our hospital from January 2023 to October 2025 were selected and divided into two groups of 40 cases each according to the treatment method. The control group was treated with all-ceramic crowns (ACC), while the observation group was treated with PLV. The periodontal health indicators and complications before and 3 months after restoration were compared between the two groups. Results: After 3 and 6 months of restoration, the BI, PD, and AL of both groups were significantly higher than those before restoration, but the increase in the observation group was smaller than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The rate of tooth-related complications in the observation group was 2.50%, which was lower than 20.00% in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The PLV restoration plan can effectively maintain the periodontal health of patients undergoing dental restoration and prevent the risk of complications.
