Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of orthodontics combined with implant denture restoration on restoration effect and periodontal health in adult patients with malocclusion. Methods A total of 74 adult patients with malocclusion admitted to Nanjing Qixia District Hospital from February 2023 to January 2025 were selected. According to the order of admission, they were divided into the control group and the study group, with 37 patients in each group. The control group was treated with orthodontics, and the study group was treated with orthodontics combined with implant denture restoration. The restoration effect, oral and speech functions, periodontal health and complication rate were compared between the two groups. Results The excellent and good rate in the study group (97.30%) was higher than that in the control group (78.38%) (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of oral and speech functions in the study group were all higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the plaque attachment index, debris index and gingival index in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of complications in the study group (5.41%) was lower than that in the control group (24.32%) (P<0.05). Conclusion For adult patients with malocclusion, the combined treatment plan of orthodontics and implant denture restoration can not only improve the speech clarity and oral masticatory function of patients, enhance the overall effect of denture restoration, but also effectively maintain long-term oral health, and reduce the risk of related complications.
