:Objective To investigate the anti-scar and cosmetic effects of tension-reducing tape combined with silicone dressing (SD) in open thyroid surgery incisions. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on clinical data of 200 patients undergoing open thyroid surgery admitted to our hospital from January 2024 to January 2025. Patients were divided into a control group (n=100, conventional dressing) and an observation group (n=100, tension-reducing tape combined with silicone dressing) based on postoperative incision management. The VSS scores at 6 months, incision healing quality, cosmetic satisfaction, and complication rates were compared between the two groups. Results The total VSS score in the observation group (3.68±0.91) was significantly lower than that in the control group (6.85±1.48) (P<0.05). The Grade A healing rate in the observation group (93.00%) was higher than that in the control group (73.00%) (P<0.05). The cosmetic satisfaction rate in the observation group (95.00%) was higher than that in the control group (75.00%) (P<0.05). No statistically significant difference was observed in complication rates between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Tension-reducing tape combined with silicone dressing can effectively improve scar formation in open thyroid surgery incisions, enhance incision healing quality and cosmetic satisfaction, and demonstrates good safety.
