Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of Compound Huangbai liquid wet compress as adjuvant therapy on the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) score in patients with pustular acne. Methods A total of 88 patients with pustular acne admitted to the Department of Dermatology, the Afffliated TCM Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from March to July 2024 were selected as the research subjects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group and the treatment group, with 44 patients in each group. The control group was treated with red and blue light irradiation combined with oral administration of modiffed Yinchenhao decoction, and the treatment group was additionally given Compound Huangbai liquid wet compress as adjuvant therapy on the basis of the control group's regimen. The skin lesion count, DLQI score, clinical efffcacy and adverse reaction rate were compared between the two groups. Results After 8 weeks of treatment, the skin lesion count in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). After 8 weeks of treatment, the DLQI score of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the treatment group (84.09%) was higher than that of the control group (65.91%) (P<0.05). There was no statistically signiffcant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion The adjuvant therapy of Compound Huangbai liquid wet compress, combined with oral administration of modiffed Yinchenhao decoction and red and blue light irradiation, can further enhance the therapeutic effect on pustular acne. This method can effectively reduce skin lesions, and help to improve patients' quality of life, with high safety.
