Objective: To explore the preventive effect of continuous nursing intervention based on wechat platform on periodontitis in orthodontic patients. Methods: Select 90 patients who underwent orthodontic treatment at the dental clinic of the Second People"s Hospital of Tongzhou District, Nantong City from September 2023 to October 2025 as the research subjects. 90 patients were randomly divided into an observation group (n=45) and a control group (n=45). The control group received routine care, while the observation group received WeChat based continuing care on the basis of the control group. Compare the incidence of periodontitis, periodontal index, and oral health self-efficacy score between two groups of patients. Result: (1) The incidence of periodontitis in the observation group was lower than that in the control group within 1-3 months (P<0.05). (2) After nursing, the GI and PLI of the control group were higher than those of the control group (both P<0.05); And the GI and PLI of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (both P<0.05). (3) After 3 months of nursing, the total score of SESS in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and there was a significant statistical difference (P<0.05).Conclusion: Continuous nursing based on wechat can maintain the periodontal health of patients after orthodontic treatment, improve the self-efficacy of oral health care, and finally reduce the incidence of postoperative periodontitis.
