Objective : To analyze the effect of orthodontic specialist nursing combined with nutritional diet guidance on improving the gingival esthetic index and occlusal function coordination in orthodontic patients.Methods : A total of 136 orthodontic patients who were admitted to our hospital from February 2024 to November 2025 were selected. According to the coin-flipping method, they were equally divided into the study group (orthodontic specialist nursing combined with nutritional diet guidance) and the basic group (routine nursing), with 68 cases in each group. The gingival esthetics-related indicators, occlusal function coordination, periodontal indicators and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Results : The levels of gingival esthetic index and periodontal indicators in the study group were better than those in the basic group (P<0.05); the score of occlusal function coordination in the study group was higher than that in the basic group (P<0.05); the patient satisfaction in the study group was higher than that in the basic group (P<0.05).Conclusion : Orthodontic specialist nursing combined with nutritional diet guidance can improve the gingival esthetics-related indicators and periodontal indicators of orthodontic patients, and enhance their occlusal function coordination and satisfaction.
