Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of systematic oral health education based on KABP model on periodontal health status in patients after oral implant restoration. Methods A total of 110 patients who underwent oral implant restoration in Shapotou District People's Hospital from May 2024 to May 2025 were selected, and they were divided into the control group and the study group by the random number table method, with 55 patients in each group. The control group received conventional oral health education, and the study group received systematic oral health education based on KABP model. The KABP levels, periodontal health status, inflammatory factor levels, and pink and white esthetic scores were compared between the two groups. Results At 3 months after operation, the levels of KABP in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). At 3 months after operation, the PD, SBI and PLI of the study group were all lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). At 3 months after operation, the levels of IL-6, TNF-α and IL-1β in the study group were all lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The scores of PES and WES in the study group at 1 week and 3 months after operation were all higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion After oral implant restoration, the application of systematic oral health education based on KABP model can not only improve patients' KABP levels and periodontal health status, but also help to alleviate local inflammation and enhance aesthetic effect.
