Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of buried suture on wound recovery and aesthetics in patients undergoing sebaceous cyst surgery. Methods A total of 80 patients with sebaceous cysts who visited Jingmen Skin Disease Prevention and Control Hospital from June 2022 to May 2025 were selected, and they were divided into the control group and the observation group by the random number table method, with 40 patients in each group. The control group received traditional suture, and the observation group received buried suture. The wound recovery, wound aesthetics, scar recovery and negative emotions were compared between the two groups. Results The wound healing time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group, and the BWAT score at 7 days after intervention was lower than that of the control group (P <0.05). The excellent and good rate of wound aesthetics in the observation group (97.50%) was higher than that in the control group (82.50%) (P <0.05). The total effective rate of scar recovery in the observation group (95.00%) was higher t han that in the control group (77.50%) (P <0.05). The scores of SAS and SDS in the observation group after intervention were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion The application of buried suture in patients undergoing sebaceous cyst surgery can promote wound recovery, shorten wound healing time, further optimize wound aesthetics, improve scar appearance, and help to reduce patients' negative emotions, which is worthy of clinical application.
