Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of periodontal basic treatment combined with orthodontics treatment on periodontal health in patients with anterior teeth displacement caused by periodontal disease. Methods A total of 90 patients with anterior teeth displacement caused by periodontal disease admitted to Shanghai Jinshan District Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 were selected, and they were divided into the control group and the observation group by the random number table method, with 45 patients in each group. The control group received periodontal basic treatment, and the observation group received periodontal basic treatment combined with orthodontics treatment. The periodontal health, tooth mobility and anterior overjet and overbite were compared between the two groups. Results At 3 and 6 months after treatment, the PD and BI of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P <0.05). At 3 and 6 months after treatment, the tooth mobility of the observation group was lower than that of the control group (P <0.05). The improvement values of anterior overjet and overbite in the observation group at 6 months after treatment were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion Periodontal basic treatment combined with orthodontics treatment can further optimize the periodontal health of patients with anterior teeth displacement caused by periodontal disease, improve tooth mobility and anterior occlusal relationship, and the repair effect is better than single periodontal basic treatment.
