Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of cosmetic suture on the healing of clavicle fracture after open reduction and internal fixation. Methods 100 cases of clavicle fracture treated in Chaling County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January, 2023 to May, 2025 were selected as the research object, and were randomly divided into control group and research group, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was given conventional surgical suture, while the study group was given cosmetic suture. The wound healing effect, scar severity, complication rate and cosmetic satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The wound healing effect of the study group was better than that of the control group (P < 0.05). The VSS score in the study group was lower than that in the control group after treatment (P < 0.05). The incidence of incision complications in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The beauty satisfaction of the study group was higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion In the open reduction and internal fixation of clavicle fracture, the use of cosmetic suture can effectively promote the healing of incision, improve the quality of scar recovery, and help reduce the risk of incision-related complications, thus improving patients" cosmetic satisfaction with postoperative appearance.
