Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of combined oral muscle training and occlusal guidance in the early correction of children"s malocclusion and its role in improving aesthetic indicators. Methods A total of 80 children with malocclusion admitted from January 2023 to October 2025 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into a control group and an experimental group using the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with traditional fixed appliances, while the experimental group was treated with the combination of oral muscle training and occlusal guidance. The treatment effects and improvements in aesthetic indicators were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the experimental group was 95.00%, which was significantly higher than 77.50% of the control group. The improvement ranges of aesthetic indicators in the experimental group, such as dental alignment, overjet and overbite values, and profile convexity, were all greater than those in the control group, and the differences in the above indicators between the two groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the oral muscle function score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusion The combined treatment of oral muscle training and occlusal guidance can significantly improve the effect of early correction of children"s malocclusion, effectively enhance the aesthetic indicators and oral muscle function of patients, and has high clinical application value. This treatment plan can specifically solve the functional and aesthetic problems of early malocclusion, providing a good guarantee for children"s dentomaxillary development.
